LEARNING NEW WAYS TO DO OLD THINGS

¡Hola bebés! Oigan hoy es miércoles de outfit aquí en el blog, y hoy quiero compartirles no solo estas fotos de mi outfit, sino también quiero aprovechar un poquito para contarles algunas cosas que han estado cambiando, no sé si lo hayan notado pero mis últimos tres outfits no han dado crédito a ningún fotógrafo y están marcadas como auto-retratos, esto es porque después de mucho batallar para lograr tener fotos a tiempo para el blog, después de muchos disgustos y mucha frustración encontré la manera en la que lograré la mayoría de mis fotos para el blog, esto es con auto-retratos.

Les cuento, tenía tiempo buscando la manera en la cual lograr fotos sin depender de nadie, y me encontré con el canal de la magnífica Sorelle Amore, una vlogger de viaje que toma las fotos más increíbles del mundo, y resulta que, las toma ella solita, wow, de verdad (vean aquí su Instagram si no me creen sobre lo increíble que es su trabajo y síganla) y fue de ahí que descubrí que mucha otra gente usa su técnica para lograr sus fotos (aquí el vídeo), por lo que me decidí a comprar una nueva cámara que me permitiera lograr este tipo de fotografías hace unas dos semanas y desde ahí he estado fotografiándome yo sola.

Hey there world! Hey, it’s outfit wednesday on the blog and today I want to share these OOTD pictures and also I want to tell you a little bit about how some things are changing here, I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but in my last couple of OOTD posts I haven’t really credited anyone for the photos and labeled them as self-portraits, this is because after lots of struggling to get pictures on time and how I liked them, after lots of trouble and frustration, I found a way to get most of my blog pictures, through self-portraits.

Let me tell you, I had been looking for ways to get my pictures taken without depending on anyone, and I found Sorelle Amore’s outstanding Youtube channel a travel vlogger who takes the most amazing pictures, and turns out, she takes them by herself, whoa, seriously (take a look at her Instagram feed if you don’t believe me and then follow her) and it was then that I realized so many other people use her technique to take pictures (video here), so I decided to get a new camera whose features allowed me to get this sort of pictures a couple of weeks ago and ever since then I’ve been trying with self-portraits.

La verdad es que no es sencillo, me toma un poco más que antes, me siento rara y tiesa frente a la cámara, estoy aprendiendo nuevamente a hacer fotos para mi blog, pero ahora yo sola (otro trabajo que echarme encima, modelo y fotógrafa a la vez), es diferente, parece sencillo, pero no lo es, creo que como todo es cuestión de práctica, es aprender una nueva manera de hacer algo viejo y es que no es lo único que ha cambiado por acá.

Hace un par de meses comencé a trabajar tiempo completo, solía hacerlo medio tiempo, lo cual me dejaba con tiempo de sobra para trabajar en este proyecto, pero ya no tengo la misma cantidad de tiempo libre para hacer todo lo que solía hacer, por lo cual he tenido que cambiar la manera en que planeo y me organizo para trabajar en mi blog, esto también ha sido un reto para mí, porque solía tener el tiempo más holgado y ya no es así, entonces también es una serie de actividades antiguas que ya dominaba que ahora tengo que aprender a realizar de un nuevo modo.

Truth is, it isn’t easy, it takes me a little longer than before, I feel weird and awkward in front of the camera, I’m learning to take pictures for my blog again, but I’m on my own now (another job to add on top of all the others, model AND photographer), it is different, seems simple, but it’s not, but I think it just takes practice like everything in life, it is a new way of doing something old, and it’s not the only thing that’s changed.

A couple of months ago I started working full time, I used to only work part time, which left me with enough free time to work on this project, but I don’t anymore which means less time to do everything else I used to, I’ve had to change the way I plan and organize myself to work on the blog, this has been challenging to me, I am missing hours, so things I’d already mastered doing, I need to learn to do in a new way.

Y por último, para esta entrada incluso mi manera de escribir el contenido fue distinta a la usual, normalmente escribo primero en inglés, y de ahí lo traduzco al español, pero hace una semana tuve la oportunidad de dar una plática aquí en Aguascalientes, sobre mi trabajo como blogger, y me di cuenta de que a la gente le gustó cómo platico las cosas, entonces dije, pues vamos a probar haciendo las cosas al revés esta vez, quizá así proyecte mejor mi voz en mis entradas.

La verdad es que todos somos animales de costumbre, nos gusta nuestra forma de hacer ciertas cosas y es difícil salir de la zona de confort y probar modos diferentes de hacerlas, pero la mayoría de las veces podemos obtener resultados distintos e interesantes, no sé qué vaya a pasar, sólo sé que estoy buscando alternativas para mejorar constantemente, y aunque no me encantan ciertas cosas o no las encuentro ideales, no puedo quedarme en el mismo lugar, es por eso que ahora me dedico a buscar nuevas maneras de hacer actividades cotidianas.

And last but not least, even the way I usually write my bog posts was different this time, I normally type it up in english and then I translate it to spanish, but a week ago I had the opportunity to give a conference here in my hometown, about my work as a blogger, and I realized people liked the way I talk, so I thought I’d give it a try, doing things the other way around this time, maybe, I’ll get to project my voice in a better way.

The truth is, we all like our familiar ways of doing things, it is hard stepping out of our comfort zone and trying new ways of doing them, but most of the times we can get different and interesting results, I don’t know what’s going to happen, all I know is I’m looking for alternatives to improve, and even if I don’t like some things or I don’t find them ideal, I can’t stay in the same place, that’s why I now look for new ways to do old things.
