As you all know I’m not really big on make up, but lately my boyfriend’s sister has made it grow on me and I see myself getting excited at trying new products and watching tutorials on youtube to learn new things and tricks, so today I want to share my latest makeup purchases and since it’s been a couple of days now since I’ve been using these products,  I think it’s time to make a little review for you guys, so click ahead to find out a bit more about these products.

Como ya saben, no soy mucho de maquillaje, pero últimamente la hermana de mi novio ha hecho retoñar unas hojitas de adicta al maquillaje en mi y ahora me doy cuenta de que me emociona un poco probar productos nuevos y veo tutoriales en youtube para aprender cosas y trucos nuevos, así que hoy les comparto mis últimas compras, como ya han pasado algunos días y los he estado usando, creo que ya les puedo compartir mi reseña, así que sigue leyendo para saber más de cómo me fue con ellos.

CITY COLOR | CHEEK STAIN | APRICOT SORBET | GET IT HERE

I’d only tried a cheek stain before and I wasn’t too sold on it, I got it on a Glossy Box edition and I thought it’d be my cup of tea but saddly it wasn’t, I decided I’d give cheek stains another shot so I tried this on at the store and I liked the color, it’s like a diluted shade of NARS’ Orgasm blush, and I really liked how it suited my complection I was a bit hesitant between this shade and the Watermelon Sorbet one, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting it in that shade soon for when I require a bit more color, I love that it’s so easy to apply and it’s lasting throughout the day, it’s definitely saved my life when I over sleep and want to get a bit of make up on fast enough to get in to work on time and not look like a The Walking Dead extra lost on her way to the set. So I really recommend this one, I like that its size is perfect to fit in any make up bag.

Sólo había probado un rubor de ésta clase antes y no me había encantado, venía en una Glossy Box que compré y pensé que sería lo máximo, pero no resultó así, a pesar de ésta triste historia decidí darles otra oportunidad y me probé éste en la tienda y me agradó el color, es como una versión un poco diluida del Orgasm de NARS y me gustó cómo le iba a mi complexión, le dudé entre éste y uno en tono Watermelon Sorbet, pero estoy muy segura de que pronto compraré ese tono también para los días en que uno necesita un poco más de colorcito, me encanta que es muuuy fácil de aplicar y que me dura gran parte del día, ya me ha salvado la vida un par de veces en las que duermo de más y se me hace tarde para el trabajo pero quiero darme una manita de gato rapidamente para no lucir como un extra de The Walking Dead que se perdió de camino al set. Así que en verdad se los recomiendo, es súper práctico con un tamaño bastante discreto para ir en tu cosmetiquera.

CITY COLOR | INTENSE EXPOSURE HIGHLIGHTING POWDER | GET IT HERE

I’m a huge fan of strobing, I was probably doing it before it was even a thing because like you know I’m a makeup rookie, I only just found out you’re supposed to get your make up sponges wet before using them (don’t judge me ok?), so I’m really bad at contouring (I’m getting slightly better though) so one day I decided I was just gonna add some highlights to my face and that’s as far as I’d go, and now I’m hearing it’s an actual thing, oh surprise, so if you’re into that strobing thing this is your go to, it’s super lightweight and it stays on most of the day, no need for touch ups, just remember that powders are a bit tricky if you have dry skin.

Soy muy fan de la técnica de maquillaje conocida como strobing (s-trou-bin) probablemente desde antes de que fuera una cosa, porque como ya saben soy bastante neófita en todo esto del maquillaje, tanto que me acabo de enterar que se supone que mojes tus esponjitas antes de usarlas (no me juzgues ¿ok?), así que soy muy mala con eso de contornear el rostro (pero ya estoy aprendiendo, ¡gracias youtube!) así que un día decidí que sólo iba a iluminar algunas partes de mi rostro y hasta ahí, y ahora me entero que es toda una técnica de maquillaje con nombre y toda la cosa, según sé es muy francés el asunto, ¡oh la lá!, así que si te late iluminar las partes más altas de tu rostro para darle mayor definición éste es perfecto, es muy ligero y también dura bastante y no acabas con la cara toda iluminada, sólo recuerda que si tu piel es seca los polvos son territorio peligroso.

I really love earthy/nude/brownish shades on my eyeshadows, that’s probably cause I’m a big no make up make up enthusiast. To be honest I’ve only used this once so far, but I liked it, I can’t tell you yet about its staying power cause I used them with a primer underneath so I felt it was okay as well as the pigmentation, but I promise I will update you guys once I do use them without a primer. I do wish they made this kind of palette in more shades, but this will do if you’re looking for something in this kind of shades.

En verdad me gustan mucho los tonos terrosos/nude/cafés en mis sombras, creo que probablemente sea porque soy una gran entusiasta del maquillaje que parece que no estás maquillada. Para ser honesta sólo he usado ésta una vez, pero me gustó, no te puedo decir mucho sobre qué tan bien se fija a tu piel ni sobre su pigmentación, porque cuando las usé tenía un primer en mis párpados, así que me pareció bastante buena, pero les prometo que añadiré una actualización en cuanto pueda usarlas sin el primer. Algo que me encantaría es que tuvieran ésta clase de paletas en varias tonalidades, pero pues está bien si como a mi te encantan éstos tonos.

When I got this I wasn’t really aware that this product was sold out and that you can’t really get them anymore, so, this is a review just in case you happen to run into one or they restock them at some point. So I got this because I wanted to try the Beauty Blender but I wasn’t ready to invest in it because I’m not so good at this yet so I decided I’d try with a less pricey one, so when I found this I thought it was great cause it wasn’t as expensive. I really didn’t know what to expect at first so I just went with my gut and got it. The first time I used it was to give contouring yet another shot (I’m telling you, I’ll master the ancient art of contouring, I swear I’m not a lost cause and I’m getting better at it everyday) and I actually feel I got better results with this than with the makeup wedges I used to use, so I think it was worth my money, it doubles its size once it gets wet and it makes blending so much easier, so if you’re looking to try this kind of sponges a try and you happen to run into this brand, and you don’t want to spend as much on it yet, you should totally try it!

Cuando compré esta no estaba al tanto de que está agotada y ya no la venden, así que te dejo ésta reseña en caso de que te topes con alguna o de pronto las vuelvan a surtir (si eres de Aguascalientes, MX, la conseguí en una tienda en el centro que se llama Confeti, atrás del mercado de las flores). La compré porque tenía muchas ganas de probar la Beauty Blender, pero no estaba lista para invertirle tanto en algo que no sabía si me iba a funcionar,  así que pensé probar con la versión más económica, a mi me costó como $76.00MXN pero sé que está normalmente entre $80.00 y $120.00MXN así que creo que me salió bien. La primera vez que la usé fue cuando intenté otra vez eso del contorneo (les juro que cada día me sale un poco mejor y pronto lo dominaré) y la verdad es que noté la diferencia, creo que me funciona mejor para difuminar que los triangulitos que usualmente utilizo, así que creo que valió la pena la inversión, el tamaño se duplica cuando la mojas y hace que difuminar y aplicar la base sean muchísimo más sencillo, así que si quieres probar ésta clase de esponjas y no quieres gastar tanto aún, te recomiendo comprar ésta si te encuentras con una.

 I’d been wanting to get a primer for a while and decided I’d give this a try, I liked how it works and it smells really good, but I think I’d rather have one in cream I don’t think I’d be buying this again, so please let me know about your preferences in the primer department, cause this wasn’t what I expected, I mean, it gets the job done but not as good as other kinds.

Hace tiempo que quería intentar usar un primer así que decidí probar con éste, me gustó cómo trabaja, y huele muy bien, pero creo que me gustaría más uno en crema, así que porfa déjenme sus recomendaciones en los comentarios de abajo, porque éste no estuvo tan al nivel de mis expectativas, no creo volver a comprarlo, digo, hace el trabajo pero no creo que sea lo que necesito.

CITY COLOR | SETTING SPRAY | MATTE | GET IT HERE

I’d only tried setting sprays before when I had my make up professionally done, and I liked how they worked, this one is okay, but deffinitely not as good as other kinds I’d before, but I just read a review on CC’s site that says if you use it in layers it works wonders, so I guess I’ll test drive it that way and update you guys on it, I do notice a nice matte finish after applying it and that my make up lasts but just a little bit longer, not too much of a difference, so suggestions are always welcome. Also, it smells deli tbh.

Mi única experiencia de ésta clase de producto había sido cuando me maquillaban profesionalmente, y me gustaba cómo funcionan, éste está bien, pero no tan bueno como esperaba, según una reseña en la página de la marca es maravilloso si se usa en capas, así que creo que tengo que darle una probada de éste modo y les aviso qué tal, sí veo que mi maquillaje tiene un lindo terminado mate y que me dura un poquito más, pero no es una gran diferencia, así que sus sugerencias son bienvenidas. Además, huele delicioso!

L’OREAL PARIS | MAKE-UP REMOVER | HIDRA-TOTAL 5

If you read my Beauty Essentials Series you know I’m a true believer of another brand of make-up remover, but I was out of it and I decided I’d try this one cause they were out of my regular brand and I NEEDED to take my make up off, cause you know, it’s bad luck if you go to bed with it on. I didn’t quite like it, cause I guess you’re only supposed to use it on your face, not your eyes, cause it really stings if you get some in your eye and my question is, How am I supposed to take my mascara off if it burns off my eyes?!! So I don’t think I’ll be buying this again. Have you tried this before? Am I using it wrong or what? Let me know!

Si leíste mi Beauty Essentials Series sabes que adoro mi desmaquillante usual, pero se me acabó y me urgía uno para desmaquillarme esa noche y como en la tienda ya no tenían de mi favorito pues tuve que comprar éste, la verdad es que no me late mucho, o sea, me desmaquilla bien, pero no sé si sólo es para usarse en el rostro o qué, porque cuando me desmaquillo los ojos ¡me arde horrible! y mi pregunta entonce es ¿Cómo se supone que me quite el rímel si cada que me entra al ojo siento que se me quema? Así que la verdad no creo volver a comprarlo. ¿Tú lo has probado? Dime porfa si lo estoy usando mal.
