Anyway, today I’d like to share with you some of the best tips on how to slow down the aging process of our skin, so keep reading ahead to find out all about them.

When it comes to beauty products you like to think you are in the know about every new up and coming trend on the market. You try them out as soon as they hit the shelves always end up incorporating the good ones into your everyday makeup routine. One thing that does scare you about the future is getting older and having maturing skin. Your makeup might not sit as well on your face and you might need to adapt the products you use on a regular basis. Instead of worrying about the future, why not take preventative action now? When it comes to aging, it is going to happen to everybody in the end. Prevention is always better than cure too, so if you are still in your twenties and think it’s too early to learn about anti-aging techniques you would be so wrong! The more informed you are about the hazards and dangers to your young skin, the better prepared you will be to start taking action. Whether it’s a special anti-aging cream or a general lifestyle choice, you can make a huge difference to the way your skin ages in the future. As the largest organ of your body, the skin should never be neglected or forgotten; never take for granted your young, supple, soft complexion because before you know it, it might be gone. Embrace the aging process and do everything you can do make your skin look and feel healthy for the years to come.

Lotions and Potions

One of the most effective ways to reduce early signs of aging is to regularly apply SPF moisturiser during the daytime; protecting your skin from the sun will not only prevent wrinkles from forming but it will also reduce your risk of skin cancer considerably. In the evenings you might want to switch to a creamier moisturiser that can get to work whilst you sleep. Anti-aging creams such as LifeCell contain active ingredients that will work wonders on tired and aging skin; if you’re wondering “where can I buy Lifecell cream?” There are plenty of options available online. By improving your daily skincare routine you will not only be putting the brake on wrinkles, but you will also notice a healthier glow overall.

Rest and Recovery

Did you know that sleep is one of the most powerful and least expensive aging antidotes you can get? Getting plenty of so-called ‘beauty sleep’ is exactly what more people need in their lives. If you want to reduce redness, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles then getting a solid 6-10 hours of sleep every evening will certainly help you along quickly.

Fun and Fitness

Exercise can actually reverse aspects of aging, so if you aren’t actively moving your body then you might be missing a trick. The release of endorphins when you exercise is not only proven to make you feel happier, but they can also help to repair cells in your body from your brain to your skin. Get outside and walk the dog more often or find a gym buddy and hit a local yoga class; regular exercise over time will work magic on your skin.

Nutrition and Know-How

What you put inside your body can have a huge effect on the way your skin looks; if you are loading up on takeaway pizzas, sweets and cookies then you are going to have a dull, greasy or even grey tone to your complexion. If you switch to oily fish, nuts, berries and plenty of water you will soon be able to achieve a more natural and healthy glow. Staying hydrated is absolutely key to having good skin, so try to consume at least eight large glasses of water each day.

Harmful Habits

If you are a heavy smoker or drinker it is going to take a toll on your skin super quickly. It is true that smoking can affect your looks, from crow’s feet around the mouth and eyes to yellow undertones. You don’t want to look older than you already are, so try and cut out any bad habits sooner rather than later. The occasional glass of red wine or gin and tonic will not make you get wrinkles though, so don’t restrict yourself too much!

Stress Can Snowball

Do you work strange shift patterns or overexert yourself in the office? Over time stress can start to build up in your body and show all over your skin. You might start to get zits, rashes, rosacea and even wrinkles from an early age. In order to reduce your stress levels you need to take as much time off as you can and maximise on down time when you can. Take regular breaks during the working day and don’t work above and beyond your contracted hours. By putting your health first you will notice a huge improvement to your skin and you will be able to age gradually and gracefully.

You might think there are a lot of complicated steps to cover when it comes to slowing down the aging process, but most of them are pretty simple techniques. Your everyday routines can be tweaked to incorporate most of these ideas; you might need to quit some bad habits along the way too. If you are trying to quit smoking or cut back on your alcohol intake always seek advice from a medical professional. They will be able to guide you through the tried and tested steps to recovery. Overall, you shouldn’t see aging as a negative thing; every single person goes through it and you will be no exception to the rule. As beauty lover and makeup addict you should want to take care of your skin and keep the young glow you have for as long as you can. Try out some of these ideas right now and they will soon become second nature to you. Changing up your skincare routine, altering your lifestyle and assessing your overall health will bring you one step closer to younger and more radiant skin for the years to come.

They say we accept the love we think we deserve.

I’ve been thinking about this post for quite a while, loving yourself is not easy, but it is the most important thing you can do, and part of loving yourself is accepting who you are and your qualities and flaws and still embracing them.

I’ve struggled with self-love pretty much all my life, it’s still a struggle, but I’m not giving up, still, something I’ve never had trouble with, is accepting compliments, I like them, giving them and recieving them.

A couple of years ago, I made a vow to myself, that I would tell all my fellow women something nice every day, why? Cause sometimes that’s the only nice thing they’ll hear that day, even coming from themselves.

So I started complimenting all the women amongst me, whether I knew them or not, “hey, nice jeans!”, “love the necklace”, “you’re so beautiful”, “You have a great smile”, “You’re one of the smartest people I know and anyone would be lucky to have you for a partner”, and so on.

The answers more often than not? “Oh this old thing?”, “Yeah, but look at my thighs”, “You think?”, “Oh, you’re so nice, but I don’t think so”, and so on.

What I say? “Thank You!” as easy as that, I promise soon you’ll start believing these good things people tell you, you deserve those compliments, saying thank you does not make you self absorbed, conceited or egotistical, and it’s refreshing to have an answer like that.

So try it! Do you have any stories you want to share about this? How often do you accept a compliment? I suggest you start and tell me about your progress.

daniela soriano, relax, selfcare, tips, ideas,

Some days you just need a moment for yourself, so today I’m sharing ten ways to pamper yourself in case you need ideas.

  1. Put on a face mask | Una mascarillaSkin care is so important, so applying a face mask is a relaxing process that at the same time takes care of your skin, what better way to pamper yourself after a long day at work? So store bought or DIY masks are always a great idea, especially in our time where plenty of options are available, from finding recipes on PINTEREST to amazing Korean sheet masks, there’s an option for everybody.
  2. Unplug | DesconéctateLet’s all be honest, we live most of our days paying attention to our computers, smartphones, tablets, etc. and they’re all connected to the internet part or most of the day and whether we want it or not, it might be a source of stress sometimes, being available anytime and anywhere has become a necessity and in turn, unplugging has become a luxury. So in times when pampering and rest are needed I suggest you try and unplug even if for just an hour, I try to do it every night at least one hour before my bedtime and it seriously helps me sleep better, so give it a try and let me know how it goes.
  3. Netflix and a glass of wine | Netflix y una copa de vinoIf you like marathons like myself (yes I’m talking about binge watching new series on Netflix of course!) then you know how amazing it is to just chill in front of the TV with a glass of wine (or your favourite drink) my personal recommendation? Gilmore Girls (cause it’s a new one on Netflix Mexico) or my guilty pleasure Scream. Got any suggestions for binge watching on Netflix? Share them on the comments! ¿Tienes alguna sugerencia? Déjala en un comentario aquí abajo.
  4. DIY mani | Manicure casero There’s about 1.150.000 results on Youtube for the words “DIY nails”, having your mani done makes you look more polished and put together, seriously, so please do your hands a favour and get them an at home DIY mani, they’ll thank you for it.Hay 1.150.000 resultados en Youtube cuando buscas las palabras “DIY nails”, tener tus manos bonitas te hace ver más limpia y arreglada, en serio, así que hazles un favor a tus manos y hazte un manicure casero, te lo agradecerán.
  5. Tea and a book  | Té y un libroSitting by the window with a hot cuppa and a good book is probably one of the best feelings ever, and there’s always so much to read! So get yourself a steamy cup of lavender tea (perfect for relaxation purposes) and a book (you can take a look at my suggestions on the above link) and enjoy one rainy summer afternoon!
  6. Take a hot bath | Date un baño calienteThis is probably one of the easiest ways to a) unplug b) relax c) pamper yourself, why? well, while you’re in the shower you can’t look at your phone/tablet/computer/etc, therefore, you can’t take any calls, answer emails, snapchat (btw you can find me on snapchat as jstlikehvn), or any other stressful things, cause you’re in the shower, and, while in the shower it’s time to try that new scented soap, organic shampoo or exfoliate, plus, the warm water will help those muscles relax, so you can go to bed right after that.Ésta es probablemente la manera más sencilla de a) desconectarte b) relajarte c) consentirte, ¿por qué? pues, mientras estás en la ducha no puedes ver tu teléfono/tablet/computadora/etc, por lo que no puedes contestar llamadas, mensajes, correos, snapchats (por cierto, ya me puedes encontrar en snapchat como jstlikehvn) o cualquier otra cosa que te cause estrés, y ya que estás ahí puedes probar ese nuevo jabón o shampoo organicos, o exfoliarte, además el agua tibia ayuda a relajar tus músculos por lo que puedes irte directito a la cama después de eso.
  7. Cook dinner for yourself | Prepárate algo de comerSeriously, take care of what you eat, cause in turn you’re taking care of yourself, so whip up that recipe that’s been sitting on your pinterest FOODPORN board for months and enjoy the meal.
  8. Put on a hair mask | Mascarilla de cabelloI don’t know if you guys do a lot of stuff to your hair, I rarely do, I like letting it au naturel and on some ocassions I’ll straighten it lightly, so I don’t have really damaged hair, it’s actually super soft and shinny, but hair needs pampering and nurturing every once in a while, so DIY or store bought, it’s always a great idea to put a mask on it.No sé qué tanto le hagas a tu cabello, la verdad es que yo casi no le hago nada, me gusta dejarlo al natural y en algunas ocasiones lo alacio pero muy leve, así que en realidad no está dañado, la verdad es que está súper suavecito y brillante, pero el cabello también necesita que lo cuidemos y nutramos a veces, así que ya sea hecha en casa o comprada, siempre es una buena idea ponerle una mascarilla.
  9. Book a spa day | Día de spaIf you’re willing to spend some money on pampering yourself, find a spa and book yourself a massage or whatever, it’s one of the best moneys spent, you’ll thank me and yourself later, my boyfriend and I went to a spa about an hour outside of the city a couple of months ago, and it was an amazing day, we had massages and facials done and afterwards we were so relaxed all we wanted to do was eat and go to sleep, so give it a try.
  10. Get the shoes! | ¡Cómprate los zapatos! You know you want to.
    Sabes que quieres.
