It’s been a while since I last wore my huipil on the blog, so I though I’d sneak it in for this fall’s outfits, this time I paired it with a vegan leather jacket, and sandals, because we have a warm fall over here and I can still get away with wearing sandals some days, these amazing pictures were taken by my talented brother, I swear we had so much fun shooting that day, it was a great time, we laughed and talked and shared a moment, it’s our moment you know? when he takes pictures of me, he’s been doing it for years now, and that day we were remembering how he helped me take pictures for my first blog about 7 years ago, so if you want to see more of his work you can do it by clicking here. Hace tiempo que usé mi huipil en el blog, así que pensé que lo incluiría en un look para otoño, en ésta ocasión con una chaqueta de cuero vegano y sandalias, porque tenemos un cálido otoño aquí en Aguascalientes y aún puedo salirme con la mía y usarlas algunos días, éstas increíbles fotos las tomó mi súper talentoso hermano, nos divertimos un montón tomando fotos ese día, nos reimos mucho, platicamos y compartimos un rato, ese es nuestro rato ¿sabes? cuando me toma fotos, lo ha estado haciendo desde hace años, y ese día estabamos recordando cómo me ayudaba con las fotos para mi primer blog hace como siete años, así que si quieres ver más de su trabajo de fotografía haz click aquí. *Ok, so let me tell you a bit of the garment I’m wearing, in case you don’t know about it, it is called Huipil (pronounced we-peel) it’s a traditional mexican garment for women, it’s been used since pre-hispanic times, the fabric is woven on a waist loom and it can have tons of different designs and colors, mine’s made in Oaxaca but it was a gift from my boyfriend, we got it at the FONART store in downtown Mexico City about a month ago, you can find their online store on the previous link with tons of artisanal products from Mexico made by talented artisans. So yeah, that’s my small lesson on huipiles.

*Ok, les voy a contar un poco sobre lo que tengo puesto en caso de que no sepan, se llama Huipil y es una prenda tradicional mexicana para mujeres, se han usado desde tiempos prehispánicos, la tela se teje en un telar de cintura y los diseños y colores varían, el mío es Oaxaqueño y fue un regalo de mi novio, lo compramos en la tienda de FONART en CDMX, cerca de la alameda y bellas artes, pero también pueden dar click al link y ver la tienda en línea con muchísimos productos artesanales hechos por talentosas manos mexicanas.
