I TRIED 5 BROW PRODUCTS AND THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE

Eyebrows have never been more important than they are these days, I think we’ve become a generation obsessed with having good eyebrows (after all so many of us grew up in a time where barely there eyebrows were a thing) so it’s no surprise there are tons of products in the market designed to give you Brooke queen of perfect brows Shields eyebrows. Ever since I discovered filling out my sparse brows I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect product, sufice it to say I’ve tried a lot of different products along the way, so find 5 of them rated and reviewed below.

Las cejas nunca habían sido tan importantes como lo son actualmente, creo que nos hemos vuelto una generación obsesionada con tener buenas cejas (después de todo muchos de nosotros crecimos en una época en la que las cejas de hilo eran tendencia) así que no sorprende encontrarnos con montones de productos en el mercado diseñados para darte cejas de Brooke reina de las cejas perfectas Shields. Desde que descubrí el rellenar mis poco pobladas cejas he estado cazando el producto perfecto, así que obviamente he probado varios productos en el camino, hoy les comparto cinco con todo y su reseña.

BOLD BROW BY CITY COLOR COSMETICS

This was probably the first brow product I ever tried, it is a dual eyeshadow with two different tones, I believe this was discontinued not too long ago by City Color Cosmetics, it came in three different intensities for different hair and skin colors, I liked this product a lot, since its two different shades in one allowed to create brows with more depth, but unfortunately the brush that came with it didn’t allow for much precision. This however was a good product since the price was not bad at all and I could switch the brush to somethign else, too bad it’s off the market nowadays.

Este fue el primer producto para cejas que probé, es una sombra en dúo cuyos tonos son distintos, me parece que el producto fue descontinuado hace no mucho por CCC, lo encontrabas en tres intensidades diferentes para varios tonos de cabello y piel, me gustaba bastante ya que con los dos tonos podías crear cejas con mayor profundidad, desafortunadamente el cepillo que venía en el dúo no dejaba mucho lugar para la precisión. Aún así era un buen producto comparando costo beneficio, porque el cepillito lo podía combiar por otro y listo, lástima que esté descontinuado.

MARK EYEBROW AND WAX DUO BY AVON

This was a complete bummer to me, I was so excited to try it out, but to be honest the brush was bad, the shadow pigmentation was bad and the wax made it all a huge mess, I don’t think I’d recommend you trying this product at all, this is still in its packaging untouched after over a year.

Este producto fue una completa decepción para mi, estaba muy emocionada de probarlo pero para ser honesta el cepillo era malo, la pigmentación ni se diga y la cera lo convertía en todo un desastre, no te recomendaría probar este producto para nada, a pesar de su accesible precio, aún lo tengo sin tocar más de un año después.

EYESTUDIO® BROW DEFINE + FILL DUO BY MAYBELLINE

I bought this from a catalog almost a year ago and I liked it a lot, so much that I got three of these and used them all up, what I did like about this one is the pencil side of it, the shadow side of it I did not care for it cause I felt it only left me with messy eyebrows (perhaps it just was that I didn’t use it right, theres no way to know) and actually the only reason I stopped using this was because I found another product that I ended up liking better.

Compré este lápiz en un catálogo hace casi un año y me gustó mucho, tanto que me acabé tres de ellos, lo que me gustó mucho fue el lado del lápiz, el lado de esponjita con sombra no me encantó porque me dejaba con las cejas hechas un desastre (quizá fue que no lo supe usar, no hay manera de saberlo) y la verdad la única razón por la que dejé de usarlo es que me encontré otro producto que me gustó mas.

Ka-BROW! EYEBROW GEL BY BENEFIT

I got this product on one of Benefit’s brow kits I got at Ulta about two years ago when I visited Washington DC, at first I was super excited to try this product but it was a huuuuge dissappointment to me, I thought this would be a really smooth to apply brow gel but it turned out to be a lumpy paste that is awfully hard to apply to eyebrows, I never really finished it and I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Compré este producto en un kit de productos para cejas de Benefit hace dos años cuando fui a Washington DC en un Ulta, al principio estaba super emocionada de probar este producto, pero resultó una suuuper decepción, al principio pensé que sería un gel super suave para mis cejas pero la verdad es que resulto ser una pasta dura que se hace grumosa y resulta muy difícil de aplicar y difuminar en las cejas, nunca me lo acabé y no lo recomendaría.

BROW LINER BY YUYA FOR REPUBLIC COSMETICS

This product is by far my favorite! This is a brow pencil by Mexican Youtube star Yuya, I loooove this product so much I’ve already gone through 4 of these, it comes in 3 different shades and has a brush at the other end, the price is super affordable and I love the results, the only reason I’m not giving it 10/10 is because it’s fragile and breaks easily, but I really enjoy using this and I’ll keep using it as long as it is in the market.

Este es mi favorito de la lista. Es el delineador de ceja de Yuya, me encanta este producto y lo amo tanto que ya me eché cuatro de estos, lo encuentras en 3 tonos diferentes y me encanta que tiene un cepillito del otro lado, el precio es super accesible y adoro los resultados, la única razón por la que no le doy 10/10 es porque es medio frágil y se rompe con facilidad, pero en verdad disfruto usarlo y lo seguiré usando mientras esté en el mercado.

Veo influencers, bloggers y youtubers hablando de productos de belleza sin parar todo el tiempo, pero a veces no puedo evitar preguntarme si en verdad usan esos productos de los que tanto hablan y si es que los usan todo el tiempo o solo las muestras que reciben de las marcas y compañías de RP, es por eso que siento un cariño especial hacia la gente que muestra sus vacíos (empties) y recompras, hoy yo les quiero mostrar cinco productos que me he acabado y que he vuelto a comprar o planeo volver a comprar pronto, así que sigue leyendo para saber más.

MAC MATCHMASTER FOUNDATION

This foundation I got to know almost two years ago at MAC‘s Nutcracker Sweet event, and I loved it so much I asked for it as a Christmas gift that year, well, it’s been about year and a half and I’m on my second jar, I love it so much because of how lightweight it is and the fact that’s it’s got SPF, this is a foundation I recommend to everyone I come in contact with, so if you’re looking for a lightweight foundation that takes care of your skin at the same time, this is it.

BASE DE MAQUILLAJE MAC MATCHMASTER

Esta base la conocí hace casi dos años en el evento MAC Nutcracker Sweet, y me gustó tanto que la pedí como regalo de Navidad ese año, bueno, pues ha pasado año y medio y ya voy en mi segundo frasco, me gusta muchísimo porque es muy ligera y además tiene FPS, es una base que le recomiendo a todo el mundo que conozco, así que si buscas una base ligera que además cuide tu piel, esta es la indicada.

YUYA BROWLINER

This browliner is by a Mexican make up brand called Republic Cosmetics and it is part of Mexican youtuber Yuya’s makeup line, I started using it at the end of last year I believe, and I’ve already gone through 3 pencils, I like how well done my eyebrows look when I use this liner, and it is pretty affordable (less than 8 dollars per pencil), I normally get it at department stores but you can also find it at a drugstore and online.

DELINEADOR PARA CEJA DE YUYA

Este delineador es de una marca de maquillaje Mexicana que se llama Republic Cosmetics y es parte de la línea de maquillaje de la youtuber Mexicana Yuya, comencé a usar este lápiz a finales del año pasado, y ya voy en mi tercero, me encanta como me deja las cejas y que cuenta con un cepillito para cejas, es bastante accesible ($158.00 pesos mexicanos), normalmente lo compro en Liverpool, pero lo puedes encontrar en las Farmacias Guadalajara y en línea en la página de Republic Cosmetics.

INA VILLARREAL ANTI-AGEING FACE OIL

What can I say about this oil that I haven’t said before? This is one of my favorite products to moisturize ever! It is by an independent brand called Ina Villarreal, this smells so good and leaves my face feeling like a baby’s butt, I love it and my mom love’s it, I’ve gone through 3 jars of this thing and I’m on my fourth one already, I just can’t get enough of it. It contains argan, rosehip and jojoba oil which are amazing for your skin.

¿Qué les puedo decir de éste aceite que no les haya dicho antes? ¡Este es uno de mis productos hidratantes favoritos! Es de una marca independiente llamada Ina Villarreal, huele delicioso y hace que mi cara se sienta como trasero de bebé, me encanta y a mi mamá también, me he acabado 3 frascos de esto y estoy por empezar con el cuarto, no me canso de él, super recomiendo y lo consigues en Amazon y en algunos puntos de venta en México. Contiene aceites de argán, rosa mosqueta y jojoba, que son buenísimos para la piel.

BENEFIT 24-HR BROW SETTER

I got this when I bought Benefit’s Bigger & Bolder Brows kit at Ulta and this was my favorite of the three products in it, what I loved the most about it is its brush, since it’s kinda flat it really helps in shaping your eyebrows, I think this is totally worth it and it is definitely a product I’ll be repurchasing.

BENEFIT 24-HR BROW SETTER

Adquirí este cuando compré el kit de Benefit llamado Bigger & Bolder Brows en Ulta, de los tres productos que venían en el kit este fue mi favorito, podría prescindir de los otros dos, pero este totalmente vale la pena, es un gel fijador de cejas, pero lo mejor de todo es el cepillo que viene con él ya que es como un cepillo de rímel pero plano y ayuda muchísimo a darle forma a las cejas, es sin duda un producto que volvería a comprar.

SUGAR LIP TREATMENT

I found out about this brand about 5 years ago when I got two sample sized lip balms as a Birthday gift from my Sephora Beauty Insider card, at the time I fell in love with them and used both of them to the last drop, now fast forward to October last year and I went to Sephora and saw that Sephora in Mexico also carries the brand, I was beyond excited, so I got one and oh my, I remembered why I’d love the brand in the first place, this is another I’ll be repurchasing pretty soon as I’ve already run out of it and my lips are craving it.

Conocí esta marca hace como cinco años cuando por mi tarjeta de Sephora Beauty Insider me dieron dos bálsamos tamaño muestra por mi cumpleaños, en ese entonces me enamoré de ellos y me los acabé, adelantando el tiempo a Octubre pasado y fui a Sephora y vi que también Sephora México también los vende, estaba más que emocionada así que compré uno y recordé porqué me enamoré de la marca en primer lugar, este es otro producto que voy a volver a comprar porque se imaginarán que ya me lo acabé y mis labios lo extrañan.

YUYA EYE SHADOW PALETTE REVIEW

Hey there guys! So, some of you asked over Instagram that I post more beauty related posts on the blog, so today I’ll be sharing a review with you for some products I got a couple of weeks ago, that are part of the Yuya Make Up line (for those of you who don’t know, Yuya is a Mexican YouTuber who just launched a make up line with eyeliners, brushes, mascara, blush, three differente eye shadow palettes, contouring palette, lipgloss and a ton of nail polish shades).

¡Hola! Algunos de ustedes me pidieron en Instagram que compartiera más posts relacionados con maquillaje en el blog, así que les compartiré una reseña de algunos productos que compré hace unas semanas, que son parte de la colección de maquillaje de Yuya (para los que no saben Yuya es una Youtuber Mexicana que acaba de lanzar una línea de maquillaje que incluye delineador, brochas, rímel, blush, tres paletas diferentes de sombras, una paleta de contornos, lipgloss y esmaltes de uñas).

So I went to the page of Republic Cosmetics and I ordered the Las Jaras eye shadow palette and a nail polish in shade Tropical. Shipping was fast I had this two days after I ordered it which was not bad, but I’ve had faster shipping and delivery for a lower cost.

Fui al sitio de Republic Cosmetics y pedí la paleta de sombras Las Jaras y un esmalte en tono Tropical. El envío fue bastante rápido, lo tenía en mis mano a los dos días de haberlo pedido, lo cual no está nada mal, pero he tenido envíos más rápidos a menor precio.

I did like the packaging for all her make up range, it’s super cute and Mexican, and it has lovely names, honestly I’d buy every single thing just for the packaging alone, what I did not like packaging wise was that the palette came in some sort of sleeve but it was just a white cardboard one, I’d have liked it better if the same design you can see on the cover of the palette was printed on the sleeve so you can see which palette you’re using. Regarding the nail polish I looooved all the designs on the bottles, they’re amazing and I really liked the detail on the cap of the bottle (scroll down to see it).

Me gustó mucho el empaque de toda la línea, está super bonito y super Mexicano, y tiene nombres lindísimos, honestamente compraría todo sólo por sus empaques, lo que sí no me gustó fue que la paleta venía en una fundita de cartón pero era sólo cartón blanco, me hubiese encantado que tuviera impreso el mismo diseño de la tapa de la paleta para saber cuál es cuál sin necesidad de sacarla. Sobre el esmalte la verdad es que me encantaron todos los diseños de las botellitas, están increíbles y me encantó el detalle en la tapa (baja para verlo).

Now, about the palette, as you see it’s a really nude/earth tones palette perfect for a natural look, it’s got twelve different shades and they all match each other perfectly, what I did noticed when making the swatches for this one were two things, first, the colors don’t have names, I know this is stupid, but I woul’ve really liked it if each one had its own unique name, so you would just know oh I’m wearing shade A and shade F and I got this cool and natural look. Second thing, light/shimmery eye shadows aren’t as well pigmentated as the matte/darker ones and you need to use a lot of product, they even feel a little powder-y, now you might see on some youtube reviews that this is the case for all of them but I did realize one thing, the brush that comes with this palette isn’t the best one, it wastes a loooot of product and doesn’t really help in its application but if you use your own brushes you’ll see the difference. The price is really okay, about $15.00 USD, I thought it was a good deal and I’ve been using it a lot lately.

Ahora, sobre la paleta de sombras, como puedes ver es una paleta de tonos nude/terrosos, perfecta para un look natural, tiene doce diferentes tonos y todos combinan a la perfección entre sí, dos cosas que me llamaron la atención cuando hacía los swatches para éste post fueron que primero, los tonos no tienen nombres individuales, quizá sea tonto pero me hubiera encantado que cada uno tuviera un nombre individual, tipo sombra A, B, C y así. La segunda, las sombras más claras/brillantes no pigmentan tan bien como las mate/oscuras y necesitas usar más producto para tener el mismo efecto, la verdad es que en ocasiones se sienten bastante polvosas, lo cual se ha comentado en varias reseñas de youtube, lo que sí noté es que la brocha no es la mejor, no aplica bien el producto y lo gasta demasiado, pero si usas otro tipo de pincel la aplicación cambia completamente. El precio no me pareció alto comparado a otras paletas, ésta fue de $290.00, me pareció bueno y la verdad es que la he estado usando mucho últimamente.

Now, on to the nail polish, like I said before I wanted to get all of them just for their really cute bottles, buuuuut, a voice inside my head said, wait until you try them, get just one, and this time I’m glad I listened to it, so yeah the packaging is cute and all, and the shades are looovely, but, for me this was a big no-no, first the brush is way too thick and it uses a lot of product which makes it hard to apply, second the formula seems too thick for my taste and this makes it even harder to apply and third, it isn’t lasting at all, now I’m not asking for it to last as long as a Chanel, OPI or gel one, but this didn’t even make it through the day, a couples of HOURS later it had already chipped, I paid about three bucks for this and tbh I’ve gotten better nail polishes for less, this was a total disappointment.

Seguimos con el esmalte de uñas, como les dije antes, quería comprarlos todos cuando vi los empaques, peeeerooo, una vocecita me dijo, esperate a probarlos, compra sólo uno, y la verdad me da gusto haberle hecho caso, sí, el empaque es lindísimo, los tonos también, pero para mí no valen la pena, primero que nada, el pincel es muy grueso y usa muchísimo producto lo cual lo hace super difícil de aplicar, segundo la fórmula me parece muy espesa y también dificulta su aplicación y por último, no tiene buena duración, no le pido que dure como un Chanel, OPI o uno de gel, pero éste no aguantó ni un día, a las pocas HORAS ya se había caído en algunas partes, cuestan $55 pesos y la verdad es que he tenido mayor duración de esmaltes más baratos, para mi fue una gran decepción.

REVIEW: MAC MATCHMASTER

Today I want to talk about make up, as you know, when it comes to this subject I stick to a minimal make up routine, tbh I barely wear foundation at all, I tend to stick to mascara, eyebrows and blush for the most part, but when I attended the MAC Nutcracker Sweet launch event last year, the make up artist assigned to me asked me which kind of coverage was I looking for, I said medium, since a) I like my freckles to be visible, b) like I’ve said in previous posts, I think I’ve got a nice complexion I just need some evening out on some parts, but I think it’s very minimal; and c) I like a more natural look.

Hoy quiero hablar de maquillaje, como sabes, cuando se trata de éste tema me gusta mi rutina mínima de maquillaje, para ser honesta, casi no uso base de maquillaje, suelo quedarme sólo con rímel, arreglar mis cejas y blush en su mayoría, pero cuando fui al evento de MAC Nutcracker Sweet el año pasado, la maquillista que me asignaton me preguntó qué clase de cobertura me interesaba y le dije que media porque a) me gusta que se vean mis pecas, b) como te he comentado en posts anteriores, creo que tengo buena complexión, sólo necesito igualar los tonos en algunas zonas, pero creo que es mínimo; y c) me gusta tener un look natural.

She recommended we try the MAC Matchmaster SPF 15, which I really like, I use mine in shade 1.5, it matches my skin perfectly and if you’re looking for a medium coverage foundation I think this is a good pick, personally I’m very happy with it and I’d totally recommend it, it is a lightweight foundation that feels natural, it also gives you a nice dewy look and is pretty long lasting, it retails for $38.00 USD and to me it’s totally worth it. I’ll absolutely repurchase.

Me recomendó que probáramos con la MAC Matchmaster SPF 15, en verdad me gustó, la uso en el tono 1.5 y se adapta a mi tono perfectamente, si estás buscando esa clase de cobertura creo que ésta es una buena opción, es una base ligera que se siente natural, y da un acabado de una piel súper fresca y humectada, además es de larga duración, la consigues por $580.00 MXN y creo que lo vale. Definitivamente la volveré a comprar.

GOOD LUCK TROLLS REVIEW

Did you know the Troll Dolls came on the market for the first time in 1959? They were huge on the mid 60’s and then again in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, now, I remember having a couple of them as a child that were handed me down from my aunt and uncle, so when I found out that MAC was putting out a collection inspired in the new Trolls movie, I knew I had to get something, and what could be more perfect than this lipstick in Sushi Kiss shade? (Notice that this shades is basically impossible to get here in Mexico ATM and that the collection isn’t available in the country, but I took advantage of my aunt being in Chicago and I asked her to get me it) I’ve been obsessed with this shade for a few months now, so I was really excited when I got it (you know that if you saw my snapchat <jstlikehvn> story last weekend.) What can I say about it? Well, it has a satin finish, which makes it really pop out, it is perfect for everyday, for these pictures I decided I’d try something different, I went for rose gold glitter on my eyebrows and a bit of bronzer on my cheeks. As usual with MAC lipsticks I love the coverage they provide and how lasting they are. So if you are into this kind of peach-y/orange-y shades you’ll love this one.

Sabías que los famosos Trolls salieron a la venta por primera vez en 1959? Fueron muy populares a mediados de los 60’s y nuevamente en los 70’s, 80’s y 90’s, yo recuerdo haber tenido un par cuando era niña que me habían regalado mi tío y tía, así que cuando supe que MAC iba a sacar una colección inspirada en la nueva película de los Trolls, sabía que tenía que tener algo de esa colección, y ¿qué podía ser más perfecto que éste lipstick en el tono Sushi Kiss? (Cabe mencionar que es imposible encontrarlo en ésta tonalidad en México y que la colección no está disponible en el país, pero aproveché que mi tía estaba en Chicago y le encargué éste) he estado obsesionada con éste tono de labial por un par de meses ahora, así que ya se imaginarán mi emoción cuando lo tuve en mis manos (si vieron mi snapchat <jstlikehvn> el finde pasado habrán sido testigos de ésto.) ¿Qué les puedo decir de él? tiene un acabado satinado, que lo hace resaltar aún más, es perfecto para uso diario por su tonalidad, para éstas fotos decidí hacer algo distinto y usé glitter cobrizo en mis cejas y bronzer en lugar de blush en mis mejillas. Para variar con los labiales de MAC, adoro como cubre mis labios y su duración, si eres fan de los tonos durazno-coral-naranja amarás éste, así que te recomiendo que estés al pendiente para cuando vuelva a estar en stock en México.
