MY SKINCARE ROUTINE
Skincare is just so important, you hear it everywhere, especially in the last couple of years, wear sunscreen everyday, take off your make up before bed, moisturize, exfoliate, but how many of us listen and do it on a daily basis? To be honest with you, I’ve been lazy in that department for a while, and this year I’ve been trying to slowly develop a routine, I know I’ve still got a long way to go, but the important thing is I started, so here is my skincare routine so far.
Cuidar tu piel es tan importante, lo escuchamos todo el tiempo, sobre todo en los últimos años, hay que usar protector solar todos los días, desmaquillarnos antes de dormir, humectar y exfoliar, pero ¿cuántas de nosotras escuchamos y no hacemos nada? Para ser honesta es que he sido medio descuidada en ese departamento desde hace un tiempo, éste año he intentado crear una rutina de cuidado para mi piel, sé que aún me falta mucho, pero lo importante es que empecé con algo, aquí mi rutina.
DAY
As soon as I wake up I wash my face, to do this I use my electric brush and Neutrogena’s face wash (my review here), I love this brush, I got it at Sally Beauty for about $30 USD and I really love it, it’s as good as other brands and the replacements are fairly cheap and you can get them from them as well.
En cuanto me despierto me lavo la cara, para hacerlo uso mi cepillo eléctrico y el jabón de Neutrógena (mi reseña aquí), me encanta éste cepillo, lo compré en Sally Beauty por un poco más de $300 MXN y en verdad que es maravilloso, sale tan bueno como los de otras marcas y los repuestos salen bastante baratos y también los consigues ahí mismo.
After washing my face I spritz it with thermal water from Avene, I then apply my moisturizer, and on top of that I layer my sunscreen from Avene as well.
Después de lavarme la cara me pongo mi agua termal de Avene, luego mi humectante y encima de eso mi protector solar (toque seco) de Avene también.
NIGHT
At night, I remove my make up using Garnier’s micellar water (read my review here), after this I wash my face the exact same way I do in the mornings, same brush and same wash. I let it air dry too.
Por las noches me desmaquillo con el Agua Micelar de Garnier (lee mi reseña aquí), después de desmaquillarme me lavo la cara igual que por las mañanas, dejo que se seque con el aire.
Then I use FAB’s Ultra Repair Cream (talked about it here) on my nose and cheeks, cause they tend to dry, especially during this time of the year, for my forehead and chin I use CVS’ Acne Treatment Gel, which is a dupe to Clean & Clear’s PERSA-GEL 10. To top it all off, I sleep on satin pillowcases, which is amazing for your skin.
Luego uso la Ultra Repair Cream de FAB (hablé de ella aquí) sobre mis mejillas y nariz, porque suelen resecarse, en especial en ésta época del año, para mi frente y barbilla que son más grasas aplico el Acne Treatment Gel de CVS, que es un dupe del PERSA-GEL 10 de Clean & Clear. Y para terminar, uso fundas de satín para mis almohadas, lo cual es maravilloso para tu piel.

BEAUTY ESSENTIALS SERIES: MOISTURIZERS
Hello! This is my first beauty review, I plan to make a series sharing all my beauty essentials with you guys. Like I told you on my instagram account a couple of days ago, I’m not really big or “fancy” on beauty products, I don’t splurge on them like some do. As long as something works for me I don’t care if its drugstore or fancy, I’ll use it. So here is the first post, today I’ll start with moisturizers, cause you know, moisturizing is good.
Hola! Este es mi primer post donde hago una reseña sobre productos de belleza, quiero hacer una serie de posts donde les compartiré mis esenciales de belleza. Como les contaba hace unos días en instagram, no soy mucho de gastar en estas cosas, no invierto mucho como algunas personas lo hacen, la verdad es que si algo me funciona no me fijo mucho en si es una marca renombrada o un producto que se puede conseguir en el supermercado o farmacia, yo lo uso. Así que empiezo con este post de humectantes, porque ya saben, humectar es muy importante.
FIRST AIR BEAUTY | ULTRA REPAIR CREAM
I absolutely love this cream, I got it with my Sephora Beauty Insider points a few months ago and it became my best friend through out winter, it’s perfect for those days when you get out of the shower and you feel your face is parched, it takes a minute to absorbe, but it’s worth the wait, this is definitely something I’ll be investing on in the future. I however do not recommend you use this now that the weather is getting warmer cause it’s a lot on the heavy side and will make your face feel heavy, but come winter, you can sure rely on this baby.
Amo esta crema, la compré hace unos meses con mis puntos de Sephora y nos volvimos mejores amigas durante el invierno, es perfecta para esos días en los que te sales de bañar y sientes tu piel súper seca, tarda un poco en absorberse, pero vale la pena esperar, es sin duda un producto en el que invertiré en el futuro. Algo que sí no les recomiendo es usarla ahora que comienza a subir la temperatura, tiene una textura pesada como de pomada y puede ser demasiado para este clima, pero ya que lleguen los meses fríos estoy segura que te puedes encomendar a ella.
CLINIQUE | MOISTURE SURGE
This one is amazing, I got it at Sephora also, but I’m pretty sure this is a brand you can get at any department store. It’s super lightweight and makes your face feel fresh and moisturized in seconds, a tip I can give you is that if you exfoliate your face before applying it, your skin will absorb it faster and better, I believe this is the perfect cream for hotter weather.
Ésta crema es increíble, la conseguí en Sephora también, pero ésta es una marca que puedes conseguir en la mayoría de las tiendas departamentales o farmacias dermatológicas. Es súper ligera y hace que tu rostro se sienta fresco y humectado en segundos, un tip que les puedo dar, me lo dio la chica del corner de la marca en Liverpool mientras me hacía una prueba con el cepillo increible que tienen, es que si exfolías tu piel antes de aplicarlo se absorbe mil veces mejor y más rápido, creo que esta es la crema humectante perfecta para estos meses de calor.
PHILOSOPHY | ULTIMATE MIRACLE WORKER
This I’ve had for a couple of months now, I got a sample size one at, you guessed it, Sephora and I just tried it out like two days ago, this is supposed to work overnight to nurture your skin, a little tip if you’re a fan of night treatments, sleep on a satin pillow when you put them on and you’ll see the difference, I did this and in the morning my face felt super smooth and glowy, I really recommend this if you’re a nighttime creams.
He tenido esta crema por un par de meses, conseguí una tamaño muestra adivinen en dónde? Sephora, adivinaron, pero apenas la usé hace como dos o tres días, se supone que nutre y humecta tu piel mientras duermes, otro tip, si eres fan de los tratamientos para la noche, duerme en una funda de satín, verás como esto hace la diferencia, yo así lo hice y en la mañana mi piel estaba súper suave y brillante, en verdad recomiendo que la pruebes si eres fan de las cremas de noche.
