It is that time again, making your suitcase and you’ve no idea how to fit everything in without going over the weight limit and without using a bigger one, I know, we’ve all been there, so I want to share some of my tips to accomplish this with simple changes that’ll make everything easier on yourself.

Es ese momento nuevamente, hacer maletas y no tienes la menor idea de cómo meter todo en una sola sin pasarte del peso permitido y sin tener que llevar una maleta más grande, lo sé, a todos nos ha pasado, así que quiero compartirles hoy algunos tips para lograrlo con pequeños cambios que lo facilitarán más.
ROLL YOUR CLOTHES OR BUNDLE THEM
When it comes to packing I think my problem more than the weight of the suitcase is the space, sometimes I’m not even close to the weight limit but I can’t fit anything else in, and over time I’ve become better at packing and finding ways to use up all the space in better ways, I’m a big fan of rolling my clothes, but lately I’ve been hearing a lot about the bundle technique, in which you lay all your clothes in layers, starting with the heavier ones on the outside of the bundle, and end up with delicate pieces like your lingerie in the center of it, and then wrap them up with the outter layers, I think this is especially helpful once you’re flying back home and when you’re returning with a bit more stuff than what you started with.

ENROLLA TU ROPA O ARMA UN BULTO
Cuando de empacar se trata yo creo que mi problema es más con el espacio, muchas veces no me acerco al límite de peso pero ya no tengo espacio para meter nada más, con el tiempo me he vuelto mejor para empacar y he ido encontrando maneras de aprovechar mejor el espacio. Soy muy fan de enrollar mi ropa, pero últimamente he leído mucho de la técnica del bulto, donde acomodas toda tu ropa en capas, empezando por la más pesada y terminando con la más ligera y delicada al centro, luego la envuelves de adentro hacia fuera, creo que esto puede ser bastante útil cuando ya vas de vuelta y traes un poco más de cosas que inicialmente.
USE SMALL TRAVEL CONTAINERS FOR YOUR TOILETRIES AND/OR SAMPLES
Never carry full size products, they’re a waste of space and weight allowance, you’re best transfering the needed amount into small travel containers or even better, using a lot of those samples you’ve laying around and aren’t going to use otherwise.

USA CONTENEDORES DE VIAJE PARA TUS PRODUCTOS DE BELLEZA O MUESTRAS
Nunca en la vida lleves tus productos tamaño completo, es una pérdida de espacio y un excedente de peso, lo que más conviene es transferir una pequeña cantidad a un contenedor de viaje, o aún mejor usar todas esas muestras que tienes en casa sin usar.
POUCHES ARE YOUR BEST FRIENDS
I like using pouches to keep my things organized, all those samples or travel containers I like placing them inside a pouch or ziplock bag (this is best if you’re only bringing a carry on with you) and same goes for my underwear, I like keeping it separate on another pouch.

LAS BOLSAS SON TU MEJOR AMIGO
Me gusta usar pequeñas bolsitas para organizar mis cosas, todas esas muestras o contenedores de viaje me gusta ponerlos en una bolsita de tela o una ziplock (estas ultimas son la mejor opción si sólo llevas una maleta arriba del avión) y también mi ropa interior, me gusta mantenerla separada en otra bolsita.
TRY PACKING CUBES
Now I’ve never used packing cubes but I hear they are one of the best ways to keep everything organized and neat in your suitcase, so why not give them a try? Plus, I think it makes the whole unpacking easier once you’re back home since you can have a cube for dirty items, clean items and maybe a new items cube if you did some shopping?

PRUEBA CON LOS CUBOS PARA EMPACAR
Nunca los he usado pero he escuchado que son buenísimos para organizar tu maleta, así que ¿por qué no probarlos? Además creo que han de hacer la desempacada una vez de vuelta mucho más sencilla, porque puedes tener uno para ropa sucia, limpia y si fuiste de compras ropa nueva.
MAKE A PACKING LIST
Seriously, otherwise you’ll either bring unnecessary items or leave something behind, this way you make sure you’re only bringing the necessary stuff and not a bunch of just in case clothing.

HAZ UNA LISTA DE EMPACAR
De verdad, de otra manera llevarás cosas innecesarias o terminarás por olvidar algo, así te aseguras que solo llevas las cosas necesarias y no un montón de ropa por si se ofrece.
STUFF SHOES WITH SMALL ITEMS AND SOCKS
Place all your jewerly, socks, eyewear and small items you don’t want to missplace inside your shoes, it’s a great way to use that space that otherwise it’s just laying around unused.

LLENA TUS ZAPATOS CON COSAS PEQUEÑAS Y CALCETINES
Pon tus accesorios, calcetines, lentes y posesiones pequeñas que no quieras perder dentro de tus zapatos, es una excelente manera de usar ese espacio que de otro modo se desperdicia.
WEAR YOUR BULKIEST ITEMS
If you’re traveling during winter or to a colder place you might be bringing a heavy coat and boots with you, so to save some space always make sure to put them on for the trip instead of trying to squish them inside your suitcase.

USA TU ROPA MÁS GRANDE
Si vas a viajar durante el invierno o a un lugar más frío, probablemente necesitarás un abrigo grande y pesado y quizá botas, para ahorrar espacio asegúrate de que estas sean prendas que lleves puestas durante el viaje en lugar de intentar meterlas en tu maleta.
