Like many people out there I’m a shoe addict, especially if we’re talking about black shoes, but if Cupid set you up with a pair of shoes like he did to me (sorry bf!) you know how much work storing them without forgetting about which pairs you own is, so for a while I’ve been trying to find out the best way to do this and a couple of weeks ago I found the perfect way to do it.
Como muchas personas ahí afuera, me confieso una adicta al calzado, especialmente si hablamos de éste en color negro, si a ti también Cupido te flechó con un par de zapatos como lo hizo conmigo (¡perdón novio!) sabes n lo dificil que es guardar y organizarlos sin tener que meterlos en cajas para luego olvidarte de su existencia (se los juro que pasa, me sucedió dos veces, con unas flats y unos mocasines) así que desde hace tiempo estaba intentando encontrar el modo perfecto para hacerlo.
So let’s talk about options:
- SHOECASE
A Shoecase is like a bookcase except it holds shoes instead of books.
PROS: Looks pretty, looks neat, you always know which pairs you own, easy access.
CONS: Investment $$$$, let’s be honest: dust, takes up space I don’t have.
Te platico las opciones:
- SHOECASE
Un shoecase es como un librero pero en vez de libros tiene zapatos.
PROS: Se ve bonito, se ve ordenado, siempre ves los pares que tienes, de fácil acceso.
CONTRAS: Hay que invertirle, siendo honestas: el polvo, ocupa espacio que no tengo.
- PLASTIC CONTAINERS
You know about those, they’re probably big in all those organizational blogs that let’s admit it, we all indulge every once in a while on pinterest while wishing we could have those organizational abilities.
PROS: Saves space, you can push them under the bed, looks neat, if you get the biggest ones you can fit A TON of shoes in them, they keep the dust out, easy to clean and move around.
CONS: Not as aesthetically pleasing as a shoecase, you can forget you own some of the shoes in them if you don’t see them everyday, I don’t think it’s good for your shoes to be all locked up.
- CONTENEDORES PLÁSTICOS
Ya sabes probablemente de cuáles hablo, son muy populares en los blogs de mamás y organización que siendo honestas, toooodas vemos en pinterest deseando tener esas habilidades para organizarnos.
PROS: Ahorran espacio porque caben perfecto bajo la cama, haciendo todo lucir más ordenado, si compras las más grandes te caben un montón de pares, libres de polvo, son fáciles de limpiar y mover.
CONTRAS: No son tan lindas como un shoecase, puedes olvidar qué zapatos usas si no los tienes a la vista, no creo que sea muy bueno para los zapatos estar tan encerrados.
- SHOE BOXES
Keeping your babies in their original packaging might seem a bit tempting and I bet many of us have done that at some point, but let’s review this option.
PROS: No extra investment.
CONS: They break after being used for so long, not good looking, they’re all different sizes which makes them hard to organize, you can’t really know what’s inside each one of them.
- CAJAS DE ZAPATOS
Tener a tus bebés en sus empaques originales puede ser tentador y fácil, y apuesto a que muchas lo hemos hecho, pero analicemos ésta opción.
PROS: No hay que invertir extra.
CONTRAS: En algún momento se van a romper, no se ven lindas, la diferencia en tamaños hace que sea difícil organizarlas y alinearlas, además no puedes realmente saber qué hay dentro de cada una.
- CLEAR ACRYLIC BOXES
So this is my weapon of choice, I’d been looking for something like this for a while but I honestly couldn’t find them, and a couple of weeks ago I found these downtown at the most random store ever and they were dirt cheap, so I had to get them cause I could totally see them in my closet.
PROS: They’re all the same size, they are clear so you can see the contents of each one, they look really cool all lined up, minimal style, cheap.
CONS: They’re not that sturdy, I have to drive a while to get them, still not a shoecase (but maybe one day I’ll have one of those to put these in.)
- CAJAS TRANSPARENTES DE ACETATO
Me decidí por éstas después de pensarlo bastante, tenía meses queriendo encontrar algo así pero no las encontraba en ningún lado y hace unas semanas me topé con ellas en la tienda más extraña del mundo en el centro y la verdad es que fueron bastante económicas, así que obvio las tenía que comprar porque encajan totalmente en mi clóset.
PROS: Mismo tamaño, son transparentes y puedes saber exactamente lo que hay en cada una, se ven súper cool, estilo minimalista, baratas.
CONTRAS: No son tan aguantadoras, tengo que manejar un poco para llegar al centro, no son un shoecase (pero algún día tendré uno para ponerlas)
