Hey there guys! Since you liked so much my post on the Do’s and Don’ts of Girly/Romantic style I thought I’d share one on Rocker Chic fashion, I felt this was needed because I believe most of us went through an Alternative/Rock/Metal phase in highschool and I know it’s an appealing style that some people like to take into adulthood, but that doesn’t mean it’s well done, so here is the Grown Up Guide to Rocker Chic Fashion, for you to get it right.
I think that some references for this are style icons Kate Lanphear, Carine Roitfeld, and even Caroline de Maigret, so when in doubt I’d suggest you look at them for guidance since I believe they really nail this style in a grown up sophisticated non juvenile way, cause let’s face it, the risky part about this edgy style is looking like you got stuck in high school.

Como vi que les gustó mucho mi post sobre los Sí y No del estilo femenino/romántico, pensé en compartir uno sobre el estilo Rocker Chic, sentí que quizá era necesario porque estoy segura que muchos de nosotros tuvimos esa fase Alternativa/Rock/Metal en la prepa y sé que tiene muchas cosas cool que a muchos les gusta llevar a la edad adulta con ellos, pero muchas veces no está bien logrado, así que aquí les dejo una Guía Rocker para Adultos y así te aseguras de hacerlo bien.
En lo personal creo que algunas referencias son los iconos de estilo Kate Lanphear, Carine Roitfeld y hasta Caroline de Maigret, así que cuando le dudes yo sugiero que las veas a ellas como guía ya que creo que manejan super bien este estilo de un modo sofisticado, adulto y nada juvenil, porque siendo honesta, la parte riesgosa de estilos como este es vernos como que nos quedamos atrapados en la prepa.

When we talk about outerwear there are two things that can make a difference to any outfit, one of those is how you wear it, for example, tied up around your waist, draped over your shoulders or last season’s popular cold shoulder way, this little things add a cool factor to any outfit.
Cuando se trata de prendas de abrigo hay dos cosas que pueden hacer la diferencia en cualquier outfit, una de ellas es cómo la usas, por ejemplo, atada a la cintura, sobre los hombros o en la popular tendencia de la temporada pasada, enseñando los hombros, todos estos detalles añaden un toque cool a tu outfit.
The second way to use your outerwear to take your basic outfit to the next level is focus on getting a statement piece to make those basics pop, such as a colorful blazer or a printed kimono, this adds something interesting to your look.
La segunda manera en la que tu ropa exterior puede ayudarte a elevar cualquier look de básicos es enfocarte en piezas statement, es decir, que sean el punto principal de atención, cosas como un blazer de colores brillantes o un kimono estampado, esta clase de prendas vuelven interesante tu look.

Experiment with your accessories, especially shoes, these can make an outfit so much better if they are unexpected, what do I mean? Well, maybe you’d normally wear a feminine tulle skirt with delicate heels, well, how about you trade those for sneakers or combat boots?
Experimenta con tus accesorios, en especial los zapatos, pueden mejorar demasiado un look si son inesperados ¿a qué me refiero? pues, probablemente usarías una femenina falda de tul con unas delicadas zapatillas, pero, ¿y si las cambias por tennis o botas militares?
Play with proportions, if you’re going for a look with basic black leggings try to add an oversized top, be it a sweater or a huge coat or top, same if it’s the other way around, if you’re going to use wide leg trousers pair them with a fitted tank-top or basic white shirt.
Juega con las proporciones, si tu outfit lleva unos leggings básicos intenta usar un top oversize, ya sea un suéter, un abrigo enorme o un top grande, lo mismo si es al revés, si vas a usar pantalones amplios combínalos con un top ajustado o una playera blanca entallada.
Stick to basic neutral colors for your basics, black, white, gray and navy, these make you look more put together and make your outfits look more expensive, stay away from bright hues.
Prefiere los colores neutros básicos para tus básicos, negro, blanco, gris y azul marino, estos harán que te veas más arreglada y harán que tus outfits se vean más costosos, aléjate de los colores brillantes.

It’s no secret that every style lover has found her secret weapons in vintage one of a kind pieces, and I’m so happy to have made this addition to my collection! This bag was given to me by my grandmother, it’s probably 50 years old and it’s real crocodile (I know, I know, please don’t give me hate because of this, I didn’t buy it and I’d never endorse the killing of such magestic creatures as crocs to make leather goods) but I find it is such a beautiful and unique piece with great history behind it, so I’m happy and lucky to have it.
No es ningún secreto que todo amante del estilo encuentra sus armas secretas en piezas vintage que resultan únicas, es por eso que estoy muy feliz de haber añadido esta pieza a mi colección. There’s an ancient rule in the US that you don’t wear white before Memorial Day nor after Labor Day which means summer, now I don’t know who came up with that or if it applies similarly in other countries, but I think it’s been a while since that “rule” became obsolete, now we wear white and total white, year long! What do you think?

Guys! It’s happening, I think this year we’ll have fall weather unlike last year! It’s so exciting! I’m sorry for the fall weather overload, but, I live in a part of Mexico where we don’t have that much of fall and a lot of summer, so it’s cool getting to wear your fall clothes during fall. ¡Oigan, está pasando! Creo que éste año, a diferencia del pasado, tendremos clima de otoño en el otoño, y eso me emociona mucho, perdón por hablar tanto de ésto, pero aquí en Aguascalientes no tenemos mucho otoño y sí mucho verano, así que está cool poder usa tu ropa de otoño a tiempo. ¿Cómo estuvo el fin de semana? El mío fue bastante bien, lo disfruté mucho, compré algunos libros, comí cosas ricas, fui al cine, planeé algunas nuevas cosas para el blog, dormí, vi series, estuvo de maravilla, ustedes ¿qué hicieron? Days are slowly losing heat over here, especially since the stormy days we’ve had after huricane Harvey (my heart goes out to the people in Houston), but it’s still not cool enough, so that why over the weekend I wore my mom jeans with my printed kimono top, that’s been one of the best buys of the season, it’s lightweight and cool enough for the hot afternoons and it covers enough for the brezzy nights we’ve been having.
Los días van perdiendo poco a poco el calor aquí, especialmente después de los días lluviosos que tuvimos a causa del huracán Harvey (mi corazón está con la gente en Houston), pero aún así no ha refrescado demasiado, así es que por eso el finde use mi kimono estampado, una de las mejores compras de la temporada, es lo suficientemente ligero y fresco para el calor de la tarde y abrigador para cuando refresca por las noches.
