HOW TO BALANCE BLOGGING AND REAL LIFE

how to balance blogging

One of the questions I’ve gotten lately from you is How do you balance having a blog and a full-time job/school? or How do you manage to post so consistently? So I though I’d humor you guys once again and write this post, I’ve seen you really like it when I give you blogging tips so I said, why the hell not?

Truth is, I haven’t been the best at posting consistently and planing my posts like I’m used to, but I blame it on not having taken a break from it in more than a year, and, blogging is a job, so vacations are also necessary, having taken that out of the way I’ll give you my tips to how I’ve managed it for the past year.

PLAN IN ADVANCE

Each month, about a week or a little bit more before the next one starts, I start with my planning, I keep a blog journal, where I list all of my ideas, and I spread them out throughout the month, in my case, I’ve decided to post every day monday to friday, so I have to do a loooot of brain-storming, planning, and content creation in advance.

Once I have a layout of what the month is gonna look like, I start planning my content creation, when do I need to take which pictures, can I do it in bulk? When is the deadline to have a draft for the post, or to take those pictures, create those graphics, and so on, and I start assigning dates to each task.

BULK

When it comes to taking pictures I try to work in bulks, I try to take all of my flatlays for the month on the same day, for outfit pictures I usually shoot 2 or 3 the same day, I create a ton of drafts and assign them names, categories and tags and so on, just work in bulks as much as you can.

MAKE TIME FOR YOUR LIFE

Working the ways I mentioned above certainly helps, they help you free up a bunch of time so please, make sure you’re making time to enjoy life, I know that with school or a job, plus a blog it seems super hard, so maybe, why not post once a week? or twice? See what works for you best so that you still get some free time to enjoy some spare time.
