BRANDS I LOVE: THE ORDINARY
I first heard about The Ordinary from skincare vlogger Rosshana Bracho, a Venezuelan YouTube star based in Mexico City, I remember she mentioned she rarely tried drugstore brands because for a little bit more money she could get really good products from The Ordinary, of course I was thrilled.

Hi there guys! Today I’m back with another skincare post, and today I want to talk to you a little bit about an ingredient that’s everywhere these days in skincare products, hyaluronic acid, but, do we even know what it is and why we’re eager to slather it on our faces?
Well, hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in our skins that holds water and helps keep it moisturized and plump, it not only holds in water, but also prevents our skin from dehydrating.
I TRIED 5 BROW PRODUCTS AND THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE
Eyebrows have never been more important than they are these days, I think we’ve become a generation obsessed with having good eyebrows (after all so many of us grew up in a time where barely there eyebrows were a thing) so it’s no surprise there are tons of products in the market designed to give you Brooke queen of perfect brows Shields eyebrows. Ever since I discovered filling out my sparse brows I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect product, sufice it to say I’ve tried a lot of different products along the way, so find 5 of them rated and reviewed below.

Las cejas nunca habían sido tan importantes como lo son actualmente, creo que nos hemos vuelto una generación obsesionada con tener buenas cejas (después de todo muchos de nosotros crecimos en una época en la que las cejas de hilo eran tendencia) así que no sorprende encontrarnos con montones de productos en el mercado diseñados para darte cejas de Brooke reina de las cejas perfectas Shields. Desde que descubrí el rellenar mis poco pobladas cejas he estado cazando el producto perfecto, así que obviamente he probado varios productos en el camino, hoy les comparto cinco con todo y su reseña.
BOLD BROW BY CITY COLOR COSMETICS
This was probably the first brow product I ever tried, it is a dual eyeshadow with two different tones, I believe this was discontinued not too long ago by City Color Cosmetics, it came in three different intensities for different hair and skin colors, I liked this product a lot, since its two different shades in one allowed to create brows with more depth, but unfortunately the brush that came with it didn’t allow for much precision. This however was a good product since the price was not bad at all and I could switch the brush to somethign else, too bad it’s off the market nowadays.

Este fue el primer producto para cejas que probé, es una sombra en dúo cuyos tonos son distintos, me parece que el producto fue descontinuado hace no mucho por CCC, lo encontrabas en tres intensidades diferentes para varios tonos de cabello y piel, me gustaba bastante ya que con los dos tonos podías crear cejas con mayor profundidad, desafortunadamente el cepillo que venía en el dúo no dejaba mucho lugar para la precisión. Aún así era un buen producto comparando costo beneficio, porque el cepillito lo podía combiar por otro y listo, lástima que esté descontinuado.

MARK EYEBROW AND WAX DUO BY AVON
This was a complete bummer to me, I was so excited to try it out, but to be honest the brush was bad, the shadow pigmentation was bad and the wax made it all a huge mess, I don’t think I’d recommend you trying this product at all, this is still in its packaging untouched after over a year.

Este producto fue una completa decepción para mi, estaba muy emocionada de probarlo pero para ser honesta el cepillo era malo, la pigmentación ni se diga y la cera lo convertía en todo un desastre, no te recomendaría probar este producto para nada, a pesar de su accesible precio, aún lo tengo sin tocar más de un año después.

EYESTUDIO® BROW DEFINE + FILL DUO BY MAYBELLINE
I bought this from a catalog almost a year ago and I liked it a lot, so much that I got three of these and used them all up, what I did like about this one is the pencil side of it, the shadow side of it I did not care for it cause I felt it only left me with messy eyebrows (perhaps it just was that I didn’t use it right, theres no way to know) and actually the only reason I stopped using this was because I found another product that I ended up liking better.

Compré este lápiz en un catálogo hace casi un año y me gustó mucho, tanto que me acabé tres de ellos, lo que me gustó mucho fue el lado del lápiz, el lado de esponjita con sombra no me encantó porque me dejaba con las cejas hechas un desastre (quizá fue que no lo supe usar, no hay manera de saberlo) y la verdad la única razón por la que dejé de usarlo es que me encontré otro producto que me gustó mas.

Ka-BROW! EYEBROW GEL BY BENEFIT
I got this product on one of Benefit’s brow kits I got at Ulta about two years ago when I visited Washington DC, at first I was super excited to try this product but it was a huuuuge dissappointment to me, I thought this would be a really smooth to apply brow gel but it turned out to be a lumpy paste that is awfully hard to apply to eyebrows, I never really finished it and I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Compré este producto en un kit de productos para cejas de Benefit hace dos años cuando fui a Washington DC en un Ulta, al principio estaba super emocionada de probar este producto, pero resultó una suuuper decepción, al principio pensé que sería un gel super suave para mis cejas pero la verdad es que resulto ser una pasta dura que se hace grumosa y resulta muy difícil de aplicar y difuminar en las cejas, nunca me lo acabé y no lo recomendaría.

BROW LINER BY YUYA FOR REPUBLIC COSMETICS
This product is by far my favorite! This is a brow pencil by Mexican Youtube star Yuya, I loooove this product so much I’ve already gone through 4 of these, it comes in 3 different shades and has a brush at the other end, the price is super affordable and I love the results, the only reason I’m not giving it 10/10 is because it’s fragile and breaks easily, but I really enjoy using this and I’ll keep using it as long as it is in the market.

Este es mi favorito de la lista. Es el delineador de ceja de Yuya, me encanta este producto y lo amo tanto que ya me eché cuatro de estos, lo encuentras en 3 tonos diferentes y me encanta que tiene un cepillito del otro lado, el precio es super accesible y adoro los resultados, la única razón por la que no le doy 10/10 es porque es medio frágil y se rompe con facilidad, pero en verdad disfruto usarlo y lo seguiré usando mientras esté en el mercado.

Veo influencers, bloggers y youtubers hablando de productos de belleza sin parar todo el tiempo, pero a veces no puedo evitar preguntarme si en verdad usan esos productos de los que tanto hablan y si es que los usan todo el tiempo o solo las muestras que reciben de las marcas y compañías de RP, es por eso que siento un cariño especial hacia la gente que muestra sus vacíos (empties) y recompras, hoy yo les quiero mostrar cinco productos que me he acabado y que he vuelto a comprar o planeo volver a comprar pronto, así que sigue leyendo para saber más.
MAC MATCHMASTER FOUNDATION
This foundation I got to know almost two years ago at MAC‘s Nutcracker Sweet event, and I loved it so much I asked for it as a Christmas gift that year, well, it’s been about year and a half and I’m on my second jar, I love it so much because of how lightweight it is and the fact that’s it’s got SPF, this is a foundation I recommend to everyone I come in contact with, so if you’re looking for a lightweight foundation that takes care of your skin at the same time, this is it.

BASE DE MAQUILLAJE MAC MATCHMASTER
Esta base la conocí hace casi dos años en el evento MAC Nutcracker Sweet, y me gustó tanto que la pedí como regalo de Navidad ese año, bueno, pues ha pasado año y medio y ya voy en mi segundo frasco, me gusta muchísimo porque es muy ligera y además tiene FPS, es una base que le recomiendo a todo el mundo que conozco, así que si buscas una base ligera que además cuide tu piel, esta es la indicada.
YUYA BROWLINER
This browliner is by a Mexican make up brand called Republic Cosmetics and it is part of Mexican youtuber Yuya’s makeup line, I started using it at the end of last year I believe, and I’ve already gone through 3 pencils, I like how well done my eyebrows look when I use this liner, and it is pretty affordable (less than 8 dollars per pencil), I normally get it at department stores but you can also find it at a drugstore and online.

DELINEADOR PARA CEJA DE YUYA
Este delineador es de una marca de maquillaje Mexicana que se llama Republic Cosmetics y es parte de la línea de maquillaje de la youtuber Mexicana Yuya, comencé a usar este lápiz a finales del año pasado, y ya voy en mi tercero, me encanta como me deja las cejas y que cuenta con un cepillito para cejas, es bastante accesible ($158.00 pesos mexicanos), normalmente lo compro en Liverpool, pero lo puedes encontrar en las Farmacias Guadalajara y en línea en la página de Republic Cosmetics.
INA VILLARREAL ANTI-AGEING FACE OIL
What can I say about this oil that I haven’t said before? This is one of my favorite products to moisturize ever! It is by an independent brand called Ina Villarreal, this smells so good and leaves my face feeling like a baby’s butt, I love it and my mom love’s it, I’ve gone through 3 jars of this thing and I’m on my fourth one already, I just can’t get enough of it. It contains argan, rosehip and jojoba oil which are amazing for your skin.

¿Qué les puedo decir de éste aceite que no les haya dicho antes? ¡Este es uno de mis productos hidratantes favoritos! Es de una marca independiente llamada Ina Villarreal, huele delicioso y hace que mi cara se sienta como trasero de bebé, me encanta y a mi mamá también, me he acabado 3 frascos de esto y estoy por empezar con el cuarto, no me canso de él, super recomiendo y lo consigues en Amazon y en algunos puntos de venta en México. Contiene aceites de argán, rosa mosqueta y jojoba, que son buenísimos para la piel.
BENEFIT 24-HR BROW SETTER
I got this when I bought Benefit’s Bigger & Bolder Brows kit at Ulta and this was my favorite of the three products in it, what I loved the most about it is its brush, since it’s kinda flat it really helps in shaping your eyebrows, I think this is totally worth it and it is definitely a product I’ll be repurchasing.

BENEFIT 24-HR BROW SETTER
Adquirí este cuando compré el kit de Benefit llamado Bigger & Bolder Brows en Ulta, de los tres productos que venían en el kit este fue mi favorito, podría prescindir de los otros dos, pero este totalmente vale la pena, es un gel fijador de cejas, pero lo mejor de todo es el cepillo que viene con él ya que es como un cepillo de rímel pero plano y ayuda muchísimo a darle forma a las cejas, es sin duda un producto que volvería a comprar.
SUGAR LIP TREATMENT
I found out about this brand about 5 years ago when I got two sample sized lip balms as a Birthday gift from my Sephora Beauty Insider card, at the time I fell in love with them and used both of them to the last drop, now fast forward to October last year and I went to Sephora and saw that Sephora in Mexico also carries the brand, I was beyond excited, so I got one and oh my, I remembered why I’d love the brand in the first place, this is another I’ll be repurchasing pretty soon as I’ve already run out of it and my lips are craving it.

Conocí esta marca hace como cinco años cuando por mi tarjeta de Sephora Beauty Insider me dieron dos bálsamos tamaño muestra por mi cumpleaños, en ese entonces me enamoré de ellos y me los acabé, adelantando el tiempo a Octubre pasado y fui a Sephora y vi que también Sephora México también los vende, estaba más que emocionada así que compré uno y recordé porqué me enamoré de la marca en primer lugar, este es otro producto que voy a volver a comprar porque se imaginarán que ya me lo acabé y mis labios lo extrañan.
EYELASH EXTENSIONS: ARE THEY WORTH IT?
I started getting eyelash extensions about 4 months ago, and I think this is the last touch-up I will do in a while, but that doesn’t mean I’m not happy with the results, it only means I want to take care of my natural lashes, but today I want to tell you a little bit about my experience with eyelash extensions.
I’ve never had naturally long, thick or curly eyelashes, mine have always been rather short, thin and straight, I’d heard about eyelas extensions a lot of times before, but I’d always been afraid of trying them cause I thought they’d make mine fall off, but after researching about them and their pros and cons, I decided to give them a shot, that’s how I ended up with eyelash extensions.

Comencé a usar extensiones de pestañas hace como cuatro o cinco meses, y creo que este es el último retoque que haré en un rato, pero eso no significa que no esté feliz con los resultados, sólo significa que quiero cuidarme mis pestañas naturales, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un poco mi experiencia con ellas.
Nunca he tenido pestañas naturalmente largas, gruesas o chinas, las mías han sido siempre más bien cortas, delgadas y lacias, había escuchado sobre las extensiones varias veces antes, pero siempre había tenido miedo de probarlas porque me daba miedo que las mías se fueran a caer, pero después de investigar sobre sus pros y contras, decidí darles la oportunidad, es así como acabé con extensiones de pestañas.
Like many of you probably do, I had tons of questions about the subject, I was scared about my eyelashes falling off, I was scared it was super expensive, I didn’t have a clue about how to care for them, but as time went by I’ve learnt a lot about them.
It turns out, eyelash extensions DO NOT make your natural ones fall off, they fall naturally due to the natural process, but since you can see them more now that they are attached to a bigger and thicker eyelash it’s more visible now.
Getting eyelash extensions isn’t expensive (at least in Mexico) if you go to your touch up sessions as often as you need to which is 2-3 weeks tops, many salons have now deals where you can get the inicial set at a good price, it’s just figuring out the right place and time, I did and got a 40% off deal when I first got mine and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Como muchas de ustedes, yo tenía mil dudas sobre el tema, temía que se cayeran mis pestañas, pensaba que eran carísimas, no sabía cómo cuidarlas, pero con el pasar del tiempo he ido aprendiendo sobre ellas.
Resulta que, las extensiones de pestañas no hacen que se te caigan las tuyas, se caen debido a su ciclo de vida natural, pero como están pegadas a unas más largas y gruesas es más visible que lo hacen ahora.
Usar extensiones de pestañas no es carísimo (al menos en México) si vas a tus retoques tan a menudo como debes, lo que son de dos a tres semanas, muchos estudios tienen promociones en las que puedes conseguir la aplicación inicial a un buen precio, sólo investiga para que vayas al lugar correcto donde sean profesionales y den un buen servicio, yo consguí las mías con 40% de descuento y salí muy satisfecha.
Now, on to the application process, it doesn’t hurt at all if the person applying them is a profesional and is using the right glue (always make sure they are using EYELASH glue and not something else), it is actually super relaxing and you barely feel a thing when they are putting them on, I’ve literally fallen asleep while getting mine done, after you’ve got them on the first time you might feel your eyes a bit heavier than usual, but that’s completely normal and it will pass.
Caring for your extensions isn’t a hassle at all, you mustn’t get them wet the first 24 hours after application, mascara isn’t recommended but if you do end up using it don’t use any oil based make up removers (I use micellar water), you also shouln’t rub your eyes and avoid eyemasks for sleeping as this will make your lashes fall faster. If you take good care of them they can last up to 4 weeks, but a touch up every 2 or 3 weeks is suggested.

Sobre el proceso de aplicación, no duele para nada si la persona haciéndolo es una profesional y usa los materiales adecuados (asegurate de que usen pegamento especial para pestañas y no otra cosa), es bastante relajante y casi no sientes nada mientras las aplican, yo literal me he dormido mientras me ponen las mías, ya que te las ponen la primera vez quizá puedes sentir tus párpados un poco pesados pero eso es normal y pasará.
El cuidar de ellas no es tanta lata como piensas, sólo no debes mojarlas durante las primeras 24 horas posteriores a su aplicación, evitar usar rímel y si lo usas alejarte de los desmaquillantes con aceite (yo uso agua micelar), debes evitar tallar tus ojos y mantenerte alejada de las mascaras para dormir, porque todo esto hará que tus pestañas se caigan más rápido. Si las cuidas bien pueden durarte hasta cuatro semanas, pero un retoque cada dos o tres es sugerido.
What do I like about my eyelash extensions? Well, for starters, it saves me so much time in the mornings when I’m running late, I feel more put together with them and some lipstick and leave the house without makeup most mornings, I like that they make me feel prettier and that ever 3 weeks when I go get my touch up I’m getting some me time where I get relaxed and do something nice for myself.
Do I like having them? Yes. Why will I take them off after this next touch up? Cause if worn for long periods of time they can debilitate your natural lashes, make them thinner and shorter. Will I put them on again? Yes, but I’ll probably rest for a while. Are they worth it? Totally!

Para empezar, me ahorra mucho tiempo en las mañanas cuando voy tarde, me siento más arreglada y pedo salir de la casa sólo usando un labial, por lo que ya casi no uso maquillaje, me hacen sentir más linda y me gusta que cada tres semanas cuando voy a mi retoque tomo tiempo para mi y me relajo y hago algo lindo para mí.
¿Que si me gusta tenerlas? Sí. ¿Por qué me las voy a quitar después de este retoque? Porque si las usas durante periodos largos de tiempo debilitan tus pestañas naturales, las adelgazan y las hacen más cortas. ¿Las volveré a usar? Sí, pero probablemente descansaré un rato. ¿Valen la pena? ¡Definitivamente!

The kit had three sample sized face masks, each one targets different skin problems that you might find on different areas of your face.
DRINK UP INTENSIVE
This one is an avocado overnight mask that fully moisturizes dry skin, you can use it twice a week before bed and leave it on to quench your skin’s thirst. Plus, it smells wonderful!

El kit venía con tres mascarillas tamaño muestra, cada una ataca un problema diferente que puedes encontrar en áreas diferentes del la piel de tu cara.
DRINK UP INTENSIVE
Esta es una mascarilla de aguacate para la noche que humecta completamente la piel reseca, la puedes usar dos veces a la semana antes de acostarte y dejarla puesta para saciar la sed de tu piel. Además, ¡huele deli!
CLEAR IMPROVEMENT
The second one is an activated charcoal face mask that clears up all the gunk in your pores, you apply it, let it dry for 10 minutes and then you can wash your face, I really liked how nice my face felt after having this on my forehead for ten minutes, nice and fresh!

ORIGINAL SKIN
This one is a retexturizing mask with rose clay, you can use it thrice a week and same as with the charcoal one, you leave it on for 10 minutes and then you wash your face, I applied it to my cheeks and after I washed my face I felt the immediate change on my skin it felt so clean and as if I’d gotten rid of all the excess oil on my skin, that was nice to feel at night.

Esta es una mascarilla de arcilla rosa para re-texturizar la piel, la puedes usar tres veces por semana y al igual que con la de carbón, la dejas actuar por diez minutos y luego enjuagas tu cara, me la puse en las mejillas y ya que me lavé la cara sentí el cambio inmediato en mi piel, se sentía super limpia, como si me hubiese deshecho de todo el exceso de aceite en mi piel, se sintió bien.
Overall I really liked how the three left my face feeling, I really think they can help if used periodically and mixed like they are supposed to be, I do think I’d recommend you guys to try these if you’ve the chance to, to me they worked well, but remember that each skin is different and reacts differently to products, so maybe ask for a sample to try them before you buy the full size products.

En general me gustó mucho como funcionaron las tres mascarillas en mi piel, creo que pueden ayudar bastante si se usan periódicamente como está indicado y en conjunto, les recomiendo que las prueben si pueden hacerlo, a mi me funcionaron bien, pero recuerden que cada tipo de piel es diferente y reacciona de manera diferente a los productos, así que si eres de piel delicada quizá antes de comprarlas debas probar con una muestra.

Oxford Studio fue mi primer show esta temporada y mi primer show en la vida, así que probablemente lo recordaré siempre, fue el 8 de Septiembre en Pier59, y estaba tan emocionada de asistir a mi primer pasarela de Fashion Week, así que hoy les comparto algunos de mis looks favoritos.
NYFW: HOUSE OF NONIE
Out of the shows I was able and blessed enough to attend this season I think Nonie’s was my favorite, why? Well, because I identified myself deeply with it’s aesthetic, the Canadian brand is known for its impeccable construction and its feminine lines.

De todos los shows a los que pude asistir esta temporada, creo que el de Nonie fue mi favorito, ¿por qué? Porque me identifiqué con su estética, la marca Canadiense es conocida por su construcción impecable, sastreada y de líneas femeninas.
The collection was inspired by Indian design and we were able to see plenty of transparencies, draped silhouttes and lots of sheen in the form of satin, I loved how you can see the resemblance to classical Indian pieces with a touch of softness, nonchalance and the modern woman. There’s use of bright colors that are key to Indian dressing, yes, but just small pops of it here and there, mantaining most of the collection monochrome and minimal.

La coleccion fue inspirada por el diseño Hindú y pudimos ver muchas transparencias, siluetas drapeadas y mucho brillo en la forma de satín, me encantó como puedes ver cierta alución a piezas clasicas hindús con un toque de suavidad, desenfado y modernidad. Hay uso de colores brillantes, que son clave en el vestido hindú, sí, pero solo pequeños toques aquí y allá, manteniendo la mayoría de la colección monocromática y minimalista.
